“To everyone else it looks like a nicely designed hat, but to me it’s even more special because I know I’m wearing a one-off piece that was made with care.”
— Jakob Schiller / Outside Magazine

From 100% Merino or regular sheep wool, to 80%-wool nylon strengthened all-season yarn, all our beanies are knit with wool. To us the choice was made before we ever started the company, because the company grew out of this very tradition — to know winter wear by hand, with wool.
Because of our story, we chose to make our beanies with no tag or marking — just like Mom knit for me as a child. The side effect of this is that you can fold it as you will, once, twice, roll it up, or wear it unfolded. It all works, and it's up to you.
We are a little late to throw ourselves on the latest trends, being stuck still before the industrial revolution. Our designs are simple and aim to show off the craftsmanship of the knitting technique used for each beanie, and to let the gritty old fashioned material shine for what it is.
Norway's rich knitting culture gives us an overflow of hobby-knitters. We have been able to create an outlet where they can earn a side income from their time spent knitting.
We cover everything, even down to accounting, so they can just knit as they've always done — now with an additional income. That is why we say, the only way to get closer to Norwegian knitting culture is to travel here yourself and make a friend who can knit.
